The autumn term always feels the busiest, with information evenings, School Birthday and open events as well as the most important business of teaching and learning. The School Birthday saw the 6th form deliver their panto three times and we had two fashion shows plus the service, presents and activities. At 104 the school is doing very well. It is still vibrant, developmental and forward looking whilst maintaining its strong academic base and traditions. On the birthday I delivered a speech which relates to the history of the school. This year Head Teacher Ms Brierley quoted Miss Cowell, who was the Headmistress from 1937 until 1968 (over 30 years) because the same sentiment holds true today,
"I think it is no idle boast to say that the school has more than lived up to its reputation and justified itself as a grammar school that expands and develops in accordance with the spirit of the age".
Every week in the Gazette exciting things are shared - as you will see from this edition of Highlights (please click here) there is something for everyone.
