Sports are an important part of life at Southend High School for Girls and we are extremely proud of our history and successes in a range of sporting events. In addition to the core PE curriculum that runs throughout your daughters time here, there are many opportunities to participate in a number of sports clubs, including Netball, Football, Athletics, Swimming, Rugby and Cross Country. We have a great sized field, brand new floodlit netball courts, a large sports hall and gymnasium and a fully equipped fitness suite. Some of our recent and notable departmental achievements are:

  • Year 8, 9 & U16 Borough Netball Champions

  • U14 Pre-County Netball Champions

  • U19 Essex Plate Netball Champions

You would think that such success would go to our head but we celebrate participation in sport just as much as we celebrate achievement. Our annual Sports Awards Presentation in July celebrates those students who have excelled in their chosen sport(s) along side those that have shown commitment and effort in their participation in sport.
