Year 9 Curriculum
In year 9 students are introduced to GCSE in all subjects although final options are not taken until the end of year 9. This is a very important transition as it will introduce you to the rigor and requirements of GCSE study. You will also be assessed against GCSE assessment objectives in all subjects.
They will also continue to benefit from a range of curriculum days that will help inform your career planning and options choices.
Year 9 students are treated to series of subject presentations to help them with their decisions for their options. We expect students to continue with the core subjects, to take one language and at least one humanity subject. Because we believe in providing a breadth of opportunity for our students we include Geography, History and RS as humanities GCSEs. This will leave a student with two free options choices.
More information regarding the options process will be provided to parents at the Options Information Evening on Wednesday 23rd January 2019. The booklet will be available to view online once it has been finalised.
