Welcome Back
- Students and staff have returned for the new academic year, with a warm welcome extended to new Year 7 and Year 12 students and new staff members.
- The school begins the year on a high following its strongest-ever A Level results and another excellent set of GCSE results.
Year 12: Launch of Agora
- New Year 12 students attended orientation and transition sessions.
- SHSG introduced Agora, a new personal development and enrichment programme running every other Wednesday afternoon.
- Activities will include public speaking, volunteering, CV building, networking, life skills, university admissions preparation and academic enrichment.
Year 7 Welcome
- New Year 7 students have settled in well, showing enthusiasm, confidence and positivity.
- Staff praised their successful transition to secondary school.
Outstanding Summer Results
A Levels
- Best results in SHSG history.
- 50% of grades awarded at A*–A.
- 78% of grades awarded at A*–B.
- 67 students achieved an average grade of A* or A.
GCSEs
- 50% of grades awarded at 9–8.
- 72% of grades awarded at 9–7.
- 20% of all grades were Grade 9.
- 77 students achieved an average grade of 9–8.
Moana Jr. School Production
- Performance dates: 3–6 February 2027.
- Acting and singing auditions: 14–15 September, 3.30pm–5pm.
- Dance auditions: 18 September, 3.30pm–5pm.
- Audition sign-up deadline: Sunday 13 September at 2pm.
- Open to students in Years 7–12.

Deputy Headteacher Message
- Mr Nzemeke thanked the community for their warm welcome.
- Over the next two weeks, the school’s focus will be on ensuring consistency in uniform standards.
Montenegro World Challenge Expedition
- Twenty students from Years 9–11 took part in a summer expedition to Montenegro.
- Activities included trekking, rafting and camping.
- Students developed independence, resilience, teamwork and leadership skills.
Mental Health & Wellbeing
- Students can access support, resources, articles and wellbeing Padlets through the school’s Mental Health & Wellbeing pages.
Catering
- Nourish continues to provide healthy, freshly prepared meals.
- New menus for the half term are attached to the letter.
