SHSG receives Pupil Premium funding for students eligible for Free School Meals. This enables us to provide students with free healthy meals, but it also enables us to assist with the cost of providing some educational resources and to contribute towards the cost of important trips.
If you receive one or more of the following benefits your daughter/son may be entitled to Free School Meals.
Please note that if you are in receipt of Working Tax Credit you are not entitled to Free School Meals.
Sometimes parents tell us that they know their children are entitled to Free School Meals but do not want to apply because their child might feel embarrassed. All applications are confidential, and all Free School Meal allowances will be discretely added on to the school’s Cashless Catering System. No one will know that your child has Free School Meals unless you tell them.
The Cashless Catering System automatically allocates a Free School Meal allowance (currently £3.25 per day) to each student’s account. Students with free meal entitlements always remain anonymous as all account types are accessed in the exact same manner regardless as to whether paid for or not.
NB. Any monies not spent from the daily free meal allocation will not be carried over to the next day. Any amount spent over the allowance must be funded by you.
If you think that your daughter/son may be entitled to Free School Meals, please complete the application form and return it to Mrs Croysdill in the school Finance Office together with your supporting paperwork.
Please note we require all pages of your documentation which will be copied and returned to you.
If you need any further information, please contact Mrs Croysdill in the Finance Office on kcroysdill@shsg.org

Any queries regarding Pupil premium or Free School meals will always be dealt with sensitively and we work hard to ensure our disadvantaged students are not identifiable to their peers.
