The evening of Wednesday, 8 February saw the annual Southend High School for Girls Prize Giving ceremony, held at the Palace Theatre. It was a wonderful celebration of achievement and service to the school. The students were treated to a thoroughly engaging and inspiring speech by Katie Turfkruyer; a former student. After leaving SHSG in 1995, Katie studied Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University and is now a Software and Calibration engineer at McLaren Automotive.
It was a pleasure to see students who have given extra to the school and to their own learning receive due credit. Congratulations to everyone.
