Twenty students from Southend High School for Girls taking part in the Münster Exchange have just completed their return visit to Germany. They stayed with their host families and attended school with their partners. The 17 girls in year 9 undertook a wide range of activities in Germany including a tour of Borussia Dortmund Football Club and a visit to Cologne. Three A level students from year 12 stayed with their exchange partners and did work experience at a Kindergarten. All the pupils and students returned from Germany with greater confidence in speaking and of course lots of stories to tell. Lifelong friendships have been forged and some pupils have already arranged for the whole family to meet up again in the near future.
“I had an amazing time going to Germany for the exchange because it was a great opportunity to experience a different type of culture and it also improved my Germany speaking immensely. Even though I was skeptical about going in the beginning, I will never regret going as it was an awesome trip that I will never forget” - Ines, Year 9
