Fun and Healthy Chinese Cuisine Review

The 2-hour workshop started with a short but informative presentation about food provenance and the variety of food in China. It was then followed by an interactive demonstration of how to cook the black bean chicken dish that we would later attempt ourselves. We learnt a vast range of skills and techniques such as deboning chicken, infusing oil and putting together a healthy but tasty meal. After trying the chicken, finding a partner and washing our hands, we were eager to recreate what had been shown previously. Although we all started with the same 7 ingredients, our final dishes were all unique in their own ways. Some more salty, some more spicy but all a delicious modification of the original. Overall, we feel that this day has opened our eyes to Chinese cuisine, and we know that tasty food can be healthy too!
